Nicolai "device" Reedtz starred as Astralis finished off dignitas 16-9 in Leipzig, preventing a possible comeback.
Group B's second opening match in DreamHack ZOWIE Open Leipzig was between Astralis, whose players recently created their own organization, and dignitas, who made roster changes near the end of 2015.
The battleground for the two Danish teams' clash was de_overpass. Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen & co started on the CT-side. Astralis had a fairly convenient pistol round as they pushed B and everyone in the team but Finn "karrigan" Andersen picked up a kill.
dignitas got off to a poor start, only managing to get a total of three kills in the first five rounds, which caused karrigan's team's economy to flourish as they led 5-0.
In the sixth round, Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel killed four Astralis players while he was trying to save his AWP after his teammates had died. Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye's triple kill then earned his team their first round, trailing 1-7. dignitas won the last three rounds of the half but still Astralis led 11-4.
Nicolai "device" Reedtz and Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen played a dominant map
RUBINO continued his form from the end of the second half as he got a triple-kill, bolstering his team to win the pistol round. Especially RUBINO's & Kjaerbye's efforts led to a eight round dignitas streak (11-9).
device and dupreeh woke up and sealed the deal after winning five rounds in a row. Astralis will be facing mousesports, who suprised Virtus.pro while their Danish counterparts, dignitas, will be in an elimination match against Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas & co.
